Collect a few old clothes which cannot be reused by anyone and you can use them to makea bag of your choice.
For example refer the image.

Don't keep wondering every single day on how difficult  it is to adopt to a polythene free world.
But rather think innovatively and create new ways to replace polythene.

When Mother's are celebrated on the 2nd week of May!❤❤❤

Mothers shape us and make us to be better individuals in this world. But there comes a time when we forget this. Forgetting everything we speak to our moms in a rude manner, we do not listen to them, we find fault with them and even ignore them. But for how long! A mother's love cannot be compared to anything on this earth. The why do we individuals behave as if mom's are NOT special to us?

It is saddening to see some mother's suffering in old age homes. To see them cry thinking of their kids, to see them staring at the road and whisper to themselves "When will she come?". To see her weep whenever she sees a son or a daughter! We talk of karma. Isn't this treatment you give to your mother's who made you into complete human beings a form of suffering? Think about it.

From dawn to dusk and even after that working on her two feet, just to make us happy a mother's role doesn't end even after working hours.

The next time you get ANNOYED with your mom, think of this. The numerous times you annoyed her, the numerous times you embarrassed her, the numerous times you hurt her! Did she ever complaint about it? Never ever. 

Don't wait until mother's day to appreciate your mother. Try to impress her, make her proud every single day possible and you will be an individual who will praise your mom all 365 days in a year.

A very short - short story!

"Well, love is like a blind man's stick" concluded Sandra with a sarcastic smile on her face. Ever since she broke up with her fiance this has been a routinal exercise. Wakes up at 12 noon, grabs the bottle of Vodka she purchases every single day with the money she collects from her night job at the recently opened supermarket. Only through her that I realised a human can live without food for one week. She was surviving on Vodka. Could a break up affect a person so much? I was glad I was still single. The only bond I had was with Peter, oh not the Peter next door, but the rabbit that was recently brought to our orphanage by our warden Mrs. Spindleworth.

Sandra was Mrs. Spindleworth's favourite kid. I remember how they hugged each other and cried all day long when James, Sandra's boyfriend  (now Ex) left her. Since then, even Mrs. Spindleworth who was unmarried would also utter the words " love is like a blind man's stick" and that's when I pulled out Shakepeare's Romeo and Juliet from our very ancient library and found out the sentence
"Love is Blind".While reading I understood that Sandra had elaborated on this line. It made me realize that love certainly can be defined in so many ways. Just like how Mr. Garry,  our guard, holds the stick since he is blind, love is something similar to it. Life can be broken apart without love just like a blind man whose life would stop without the stick. And Sandra was quite right. Through one sentence she made a scholar. She has realized that without love she's all isolated.

The other day when I met Sandra's friend from the supermarket, she said that her bill book is filled with the line " blind man's stick - who wants love?". This was when I realised that love can make and break. She who was once one of the brightest students in college is now all misled. She lives for the day. She has no goal nor a future. But is surviving on something that she never fed on.

Negative impression and but a positive attitude  is what I understood about love. Love indeed is a blind man's stick. - I am not blind.

'Like a car driving on three wheels'


When my fiance uttered these words, when he was busy with multiple number of work, just one thing struck my mind. That this phrase describes life perfectly. Just compare the car and your life. Your car drives well when bought a new. Your life works perfectly well for you as a kid. With the love and uncaring support of your parents you face society with true confidence. On this long journey of life, just like a car that breaks down, our life too faces obstacles and barriers in reaching the goal.

Just like a car that shines when it's new our life too is sparkling when we are young. But as we grow older, it's just like an old car that's difficult to drive and doesn't shine anymore.

Just like a car,  good maintenance is needed for life as well. Life is but a paradise that leads to heaven. Just like how you feel when driving to Nuwera Eliya in Sri Lanka after some busy days in the metropolis  is what you should be ideally feeling at your retirement.



The sad part of the story is that people now consider life as a toy. Life is not to be played with. That is something that we all have to keep in mind. And to make life better, to make it shine, well! it's up to you. Keep smiling and always remember that "life is just like a car, if driven on four wheels -it's perfect, but on three - enjoy the consequences!

Remember, it's just one life - drive it with four!!!

When the fish is served on the platter, with the spices made by my mom, I needn't mention how the dish gets empty in a spur of a second. It's fresh, cooked well with home made spices.
We buy it from him. He comes every single day to visit us, in the late morning hours, at around 10.30 am. I was introduced to him by my grand mother. When I was not so tall, I used to peep over the wall of  my grand mas house and stand there until she speaks to him and comes in having a plan of preparing the latest yummiest fish dish for me to enjoy.

A couple of days back, I heard his voice, which is quite familiar to my friends too who hears his voice over the phone when they speak to me, made me realize that times have gone by but something remains unchanged. It's been two decades or more now since this person visits us. But we do not know where he comes from, how he survives or what kind of qualities he possess. But I know one thing, and that is, he does not give up.

Shelton, the fisherman that goes our way for so many years has not only sold fish to us but taught us a lesson. His willingness to survive and the never forgiving nature, he bears is of course a significant quality.

This is for the thousands of fisherman out there who risk their lives to make us get the best. Even when the war is over in the country, you fight a battle with death every single days to feed your little ones and to nourish us.
